October’s been a big month. Four blogs. A swirl of emotions. A whole lot of healing out loud.
We started with the moment that changed everything - my ADHD diagnosis. Then we unpacked rejection sensitivity (and birthdays that sting a little more than even a Woolies mud cake can fix). After that came the chaos and clarity of parenting an ADHD child when you’re still learning how to parent yourself.
Now, it’s time to wrap it all up: how this awareness has reshaped not just me, but my business - and why mental health, purpose, and meaningful gifting are now part of Pebbly Path’s DNA.
Because this brand? It was never just about rocky road.
From Hiding to Healing
For most of my life, I thought being “too much” was an individual defect.
Too intense. Too emotional. Too sensitive. Too chaotic.
Spoiler alert: it was ADHD - and it actually is too much for a lot of people - but I’m not alone anymore, because us with “racecar brains” tend to find each other eventually.
My diagnosis didn’t hand me an excuse - it handed me a mirror. When I looked into it, I saw the emergency nurse who thrived on chaos and the rush of the unknown - the one who felt most alive when the adrenaline was peaking. I saw the mum who couldn’t cope when her baby wouldn’t follow the schedule everyone else seemed to swear by, and who had to fight through the urge to flee when her nervous system screamed for escape. And I saw the business owner who’s never felt like she’s done enough, even after working harder than ever - the one who built a company for freedom, yet often wishes someone else would just tell her what to do, because prioritising a thousand competing thoughts feels impossible.
The more I learned about ADHD, the more I realised I wasn’t broken. I am different - but I’m definitely not unique. That’s what “healing loudly” means to me - refusing to hide the parts of ourselves that make other people uncomfortable. Talking about the hard stuff in a world that keeps saying, “Shhhhh.” Because the racecar brain doesn’t see the other ferrari’s zooming by - we’re all hiding, trying to be all things to all people to fit in. When we heal loudly, we allow others to feel seen and understood, and encourage them to stop hiding.
As Diann Wingert says on her ADHD-ish Podcast, don’t to “conform to the norm”! We can build lives that work with our brains, instead of against them. Pebbly Path is proof of that. I am proof of that.
How ADHD Changed Pebbly Path
Once I stopped trying to “fit the mould” of how a business should be run, what I should be doing, and trying to implement “tried and tested” strategies that every business coach is preaching... things started flowing.
I’m creating ADHD-friendly systems - batching creative work, clear visual checklists, flexibility that actually functions. My team (mostly mums) know that some days your brain cooperates and some days it doesn’t - and that’s okay (because many of them are neurodivergent too).
We’ve built a brand that brings confident energy but leaves the ego. We make extraordinary rocky road for people who hate boring bits, but we also make space for each other to be human.
That’s why mental health isn’t a side project here. It’s literally infused in everything we do - from the way we schedule production, to how we show up online, to the charity we support with every single sale.
Why We Partner with LIVIN
Every Pebbly Path treat helps fund mental health education programmes through LIVIN - an Australian not-for-profit changing the conversation around mental health.
Their motto, “It ain’t weak to speak,” hit me hard. Because if more of us spoke up earlier, maybe fewer of us would hit breaking point.
We donate a portion of every sale to support LIVIN’s programs in schools and communities across Australia. But it’s not just about the dollars - it’s about amplifying the message.
Talking saves lives. And every time you choose Pebbly Path, you’re part of that ripple effect.
Gifts That Mean More (Especially for Time-Poor Humans Like Us)
If you’re like me - ADHD, time-blind, juggling motherhood, and leaving every Christmas list to the last possible minute - this part’s for you.
You want gifts that feel thoughtful, but don’t take hours to organise (or wrap!). Something premium, homemade, sustainable, and genuinely meaningful… without it screaming “I forgot and grabbed this at the servo.”
That’s where Pebbly Path comes in.
💨 We express ship - because the world doesn’t always run on neurotypical time.
🛍️ We’re stocked in 300+ retailers across Australia, so you can find us locally when you need that perfect last-minute hero gift.
🌿 We’re 100% plastic-free and home compostable - because luxurious doesn’t have to be adorned with landfill.
🐨 We’re handmade in Mudgee, NSW - by regional women who, like me, are just trying to make their way in the world without “conforming to the norm”.
💖 Every purchase supports LIVIN - so your gift has impact long after the chocolate’s demolished and the packaging has biodegraded.
Whether it’s corporate gifting, teacher presents, client thank-yous, or secret santa surprises - you can give something delicious that means something.
Because late doesn’t mean lazy - it means life.
Healing Loudly, Leading Softly
October might be wrapping up, but this conversation won’t.
I’ll keep healing loudly - for the mums, the makers, the founders, the ones whose brains move faster than the world we’ve been born into.
If you’ve read any part of this series, thank you. Every click, every share, every “me too” in the comments makes the world a little safer for someone else to speak up.
And if you want to end Mental Health Month by doing something sweet that genuinely makes a difference - grab a Pebbly Path rocky road.
You’ll be supporting mental health education through LIVIN, regional women in flexible work, local farmers, and a business built with heart, purpose, and a dash of chaos (ok the lid fell off the chaos bottle).
Because guilt-free indulgence tastes sweeter.
